The voters have spoken with a resounding yes to the updates that were added to our existing 2001 plan. Clearly Scottsdale residents approve of the direction the city has been going in for the last 20 years.

It’s clear that the benefits derived from the expanded CTC, both personally and economically, far outweigh the cost. This type of targeted aid will not only boost the recovery for our city as we chart our economic path from the pandemic, but it will have meaningful long-term effects.

How do we make our Downtown re-invigorated, sustainable and safe going forward? How do we balance youth with sophistication, bachelorette parties with upscale dining and family activities, and all while maintaining public safety?

It’s been almost six months since Scottsdale welcomed its newly elected city council members, who all earned their seats at the Nov. 3 General Election, including Councilwoman Tammy Caputi who gathered 58,561 votes in last year’s election.

Most of the city’s revenue is generated in the south, which is subsidizing the north, further increasing the social divide. Only the wealthy can live in the neighborhoods with the best schools and amenities.

Scottsdale City Council is a nonpartisan race. If elected to city council, I will not be a Republican or a Democratic council member, a pro-growth or a no-growth council member; I will be a Scottsdale council member.

Scottsdale is a Golden Rule City. Our fundamental values of kindness, empathy, respect, and civility need to be more than just words buried deep inside the city’s website; we need leaders who embody these ideals.

Yes, I understand the importance of having high paying jobs and quality employers like Nationwide, GoDaddy, and Axon that will help our economy recover, pay for infrastructure improvements, and generate the desperately needed sales tax revenue that keeps our quality of life high, our property values strong and our property taxes low.

“I will continue to work as hard as I can through every medium available to get my positive, forward thinking message out to as many voters as possible,” Ms. Caputi said.
